The TiVo Experiment Is Over

Published by under Technology

It’s been taken care of. I planned on waiting until Monday, but I decided to take care of it all today. The TiVo has been canceled and has been shipped back to Texas. I also canceled my HD service with Charter and got back my old SD cable box. The way I look at it, […]

Another TiVo Update

Published by under Technology

Read my previous post if you haven’t read my update on the TiVo experience I’ve had so far. So after watching and recording CSI and recording another program at the same time, TiVo’s video/audio froze up again and I’m now considering sending the unit back. I just noticed they have a 30 day money back […]

Computer Weirdness?

Published by under Technology

I don’t know how if most people pay attention to the noises their computer makes when it starts up. I used to because I had problems with either a hard drive or a fan that was going bad, but that was a few years ago and with two relatively new machines going, I feel pretty […]

I presume all BD-Live content is stored on remote servers and is […]

Charter Glitch

Published by under Technology

I don’t have a whole lot to report these days. It’s a little slow right now. Charter (my ISP/Cable Provider/Phone Provider) had a problem with a line. It was damaged somewhere near Madison, WI apparently and affected everyone in the area. Here, we had problems with all three services though the Internet was in good […]

Cable Outage

Published by under Technology

Yesterday was rather interesting around here. Charter is the only cable company in the area and all of their services went out. Internet, TV, and Telephone. All three went down for four hours or more. Of course it wasn’t in the middle of the night when no one would notice… it was in late morning-early […]

Dell is Cheap

Published by under Technology

I received my new Dell yesterday. It’s my third one, and none of them have shipped with a piece of network cable. All I ask for is a cheap three-foot Cat 5 cable with connectors. Is that really too much to ask for? Not everyone uses wireless network technology.
